A Five Points boutique now has a local co-owner.
Ashley Beary, a Columbia resident and fashion influencer, has joined Dakotas Boutique as co-owner alongside founder Laurie Corwin.
“I have been working on and building my influencing brand for the past 3 years and I really think this takes it to the next level,” Ashley said.
Dakotas’ flagship brick and mortar store will remain in Columbia, but the business has greatly shifted towards e-commerce as it continues to gain a larger online presence. The co-owners hope to continue that online success by adding Beary’s social media expertise to the already established foundation.
The new partners are excited to put more focus on the online marketing and influencer programs, starting with the new Ashley Beary Collection, which will be featured monthly and offer what Beary calls “comfortable chic with a boho/edgy flare.”
Beary and her husband Robert, a former baseball player at the University of South Carolina, are excited to keep Columbia at the center of the growing business.
“It feels great to be a part of an exceptional business in my hometown that offers the very best in quality and style in this booming fashion market. I’m super excited to help buy new fresh styles and pieces for the upcoming season,” Beary said.
Dakotas offers trendy fashion and accessories and sells national brands like Free People, Show Me Your Mumu, Steve Madden and others. More information on the store is available at dakotasboutique.com.
